This event is hosted by the Columbus Arts Council, in partnership with the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge and Dr. Gillian Furniss, who is Artist-in-Residence at the Refuge for June 2017 where she will be creating en plein air sketches, landscape papercutting and tunnel books of the wildlife refuge. The event is made possible through a grant by Friends of Noxubee Refuge which provides opportunities to provide the public with arts integration and environmental education experience.

CAC will provide transportation from the Rosenzweig Arts Center to Noxubee Refuge in Brooksville/Starkville and back again. Group will leave promptly at 8:30 am. Will arrive back by 4 pm.  Please drop off your child by 8:20 am and pick them up by 4:15 pm.

 

Participants must wear appropriate walking shoes and clothing for hiking along wooded paths. Please dress for the weather--may wish to bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and rain gear.  Please bring a bag with a name to hold all belongings.

 

We advise against bringing any electronics.  The CAC and Noxubee Refuge are not responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen items.
