Muscle Shoals

Showing of the critically acclaimed documentary which

chronicles the story behind Rick Hall's Fame Recording Studios, the birthplace of the iconic Muscle Shoals sound. The film will be introduced by veteran Fame musician, singer-songwriter

Walt Aldridge.  Q&A to follow.  Free

Walt Aldridge in Concert

This Nashville/Muscle Shoals singer-songwriter has written dozens of recorded Country and Americana songs and was part of the Muscle Shoals Fame Recording Studio family for 17 years.  As producer, songwriter and musician, he has built an unshakeable reputation as an honored troubadour of our time.

This week includes field trips to various art museums within the state of Mississippi along with an in-depth photography class. We hope to educate and inspire through the world of art and culture in our community.

Friday, May 8, 7:00 p.m.: "Afrissippi" in Concert.  $10 advance; $12 door. 

 

Saturday, May 9, 9:00 a.m.- noon: "The Power of Art".  Workshop and lecture exploring how art maintains and influences our culture.  Free. Please call to register by May 7.

 

Saturday, May 9, 2:00 p.m.: Part 1 of 2 of the Understanding Autism series.  "Jesse Speeks".  Short documentary about a remarkable young man diagnosed with autism. Free.  Please call to reserve your seat by May 7.

 

Saturday, May 9, 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.: Part 2 of 2 of the Understanding Autism series. Experience the Right Side of Your Brain. Family and friends of autistic children and adults will find this a valuable workshop to experience.  Free.  Please call to reserve your seat by May 7.
