DEBBIE BOND BLUES BAND

Singer, guitar player and songwriter Debbie Bond has been paying her dues in the Alabama backwoods for over 30 years. Her singing has been compared to Bonnie Raitt and Maria Muldaur, both of whom she cites as being influences on her music. The truth is that Debbie does it her way, playing a dynamic mix of soulful originals and covers. Her impressive musical story includes years of performing with older traditional Alabama blues musicians, including Johnny Shines, Eddie Kirkland and Willie King. Her immersion in the blues has deeply flavored her guitar playing, soulful voice and original song writing, yet her sound is contemporary and original, incorporating soul, blues, rock, jazz and Americana influences.

HONEYBOY & BOOTS

Drew Blackwell is true southern, raised in the heart of the black prairie in Mississippi. He started learning his way around the guitar at the age of fourteen, influenced by his Uncle Doug who taught him old country and folk standards. Later, he was mentored and inspired to write and feel the blues by Willie King, an Alabama blues artist. All these influences are what you hear in his writing, the stories come alive in his songs.

Courtney grew up in Washington state and comes from a musical family, she began playing cello at almost four years old. Her mother was most influential in her progressing in technique, tone and ear training. Since traveling around the southern states she has focused on a variety of ways the cello is used in ensembles. When she plays you can feel groovy bass lines moving and passing to make room for soaring lead parts.

Together, Honeyboy and Boots have a unique style that is all their own. This husband/wife, guitar/cello duo’s originals are straight from the heart. Americana, folk, alt country, blues, all these words describe their sound, which is always changing and growing.

They spend most of their time on the road, touring Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, Texas, Washington and Idaho. They are proud to call Tennessee, and Mississippi home.
