Joseph Allen McComb

Joe McComb began his pottery career in 2009. His wife had given him a pottery lesson gift certificate with Kerry Kennedy, who has the Fire Horse Studio, on the Kentuck Campus in Northport, Alabama.

Kerry taught Joe how to throw, hand building, slab work, mixing glazes, pit fires, and raku firing. From her training, Joe started to settle into his own style.

Today, Joe sells his pottery in Fairhope, AL (Villa Decor), Orange Beach (Merrill Miller Interior Decorators), Trussville, AL (Nona Ruth's), Tuscaloosa, (Perfect Touch, Beverly's Decor and More), Lampada, and Kentuck Art Center.

For three years Joe has shown at the Kentuck Arts Festival, Druid City Arts Festival, and Mount Laurel Art Fests located in Shelby Co., Alabama.

Joe is married to Brenda N. McComb, a MSCW graduate of 1968, for the past 49 years. They have four children, one who pitched for Mississippi Southern.
